A few of MegaStar’s philanthropic endeavors include the Colorado I Have A Dream Foundation, Mi Casa, Family Star, Volunteers of America and others.

 ANITA PADILLA-FITZGERALD
 President & CEO

  MFC was founded in 1999 with the principle of “Integrity and Accountability”. MFC is a HUD approved retail mortgage banker doing business in 33 states and employs 275 full-time staff.

MegaStar Financial was recently highlighted as a strong accountable lender by FOX National Business News and the Denver Post. MFC was rewarded the Gold Star Award from the Better Business Bureau in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009.

In 2009 The Latina Chamber in conjunction with the United States Hispanic Chamber and State Farm presented Mrs. Padilla-Fitzgerald with The National Latina Trail Blazer Award for Business.

Mrs. Padilla-Fitzgerald served two consecutive terms for the State of Colorado “Rules Committee Task Force.” In 2009, she was appointed by the Colorado Governor to serve on the Colorado Housing Finance Authority Board of Directors.

This year, Mrs. Padilla-Fitzgerald was nominated and won the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Financial Service for the Rocky Mountain Region for 2010. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for Denver awarded Mrs. Padilla-Fitzgerald the Hispanic Business Woman of the Year for 2010.

Prior to MFC, Mrs. Padilla-Fitzgerald was President/CEO of First City Financial Corp. (FCFC), a Denver based lender, from 1996 to1999 and was one of 10 original employees of Denver based Cherry Creek Mortgage Company (CCMC) from 1988 to 1996.

  

 GEORGE HENLEY
 EVP - Chief Operating Officer - Megastar Financial Corp

  A Mortgage Banking veteran, George Henley is EVP and Chief Operating Officer of MegaStar Financial Corporation. Mr. Henley is responsible for managing Capital Markets activities. With over 20 years of experience in managing all facets of a full service mortgage banking operation, Mr. Henley joined MegaStar Financial Corporation in 2012 from Chase Mortgage Banking where he was responsible for Pricing Analytics and the Mandatory Trading Desk for the Correspondent Channel.

Starting his career as a Loan Officer, Mr. Henley since has developed correspondent originations for a de novo mortgage bank, managed retail mortgage originations for a publicly traded top 50 US bank, served as President of one of the largest privately held mortgage banking companies in the US, managed regional correspondent sales for 3 of the top 5 mortgage and commercial banks and served as Chief Credit Officer for 2 of the top 5 mortgage origination companies in the US.

Mr. Henley is from Memphis, TN and is a graduate of Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He is married Melody Henley and has three children.

  

 SCOTT PIEPER
 EVP - Chief Operating Officer - Megastar Holdings

  Mr. Pieper is responsible for corporate and strategic management for MegaStar Hodlings, which oversees all of the MegaStar companies. He manages the capital and treasury needs of MegaStar Financial Corp., Take Three Technologies, MegaStar Holding Services, and MegaStar Real Estate Agents. Additionally, he provides strategic analysis to MegaStar’s President & CEO.

Mr. Pieper was one of the initial employees of the company in April 2000 and has been intimately involved in the development of many of the systems and procedures used by the company today.

Prior to joining MegaStar, Mr. Pieper was with Wells Fargo Bank in Commercial Banking and Asset Based Finance for 12 years.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and graduated with honors from the University of Denver in June 1982.

  

 BARBARA FUNKE
 Senior Vice President

  Mrs. Funke joined MegaStar Financial Corporation in October 2000 with over 40 years of experience in the Mortgage Financial Field. She is well respected in the mortgage lending field and has held executive positions at National Banks and as the Vice President of Operation for Cherry Creek Mortgage and Stone Creek Funding.

Mrs. Funke has also spent seven years as a small business owner that provided training and consulting services for financial institutions nationwide.

As a Senior Vice President, she oversees branch and corporate operations and is interested in developing people and ensuring the continued growth for MegaStar.

Mrs. Funke is involved in the arts, serviced on the Mayor’s Counsel of the Arts, has been involved in various fund raising activities, and is one of the original members of the Denver Film Festival.

In her spare time, she enjoys, biking, hiking, reading, and cooking.

She was born in Toronto, Canada and moved to Denver in 1978.

  

 CARLENE GRAHAM
 VP - Corporate Operations Manager

  Mrs. Graham has recently joined MegaStar Financial as our Corporate Operations Manager. She will oversee the Transaction Coordinators as well as the Loan Specialists.

Mrs. Graham has been in the mortgage business for 20 years, most recently at Aurora Bank FSB (formerly Aurora Loan Services). She was a Vice President of Retail Mortgage Operations as well as Learning & Development. She has a passion for coaching and development and looks forward to working with all the talented people at Megastar Financial.

Mrs. Graham is married with children and enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her kids at their athletic events.

  

 DAVID KELLY
 Senior VP - Eastern US Business Development Manager

  Dave has been with MegaStar Financial since January 2012. He has been in the finance and real estate business for over 15 years.

At CorTrust Mortgage, Dave grew a mortgage company from 8th in the marketplace to 2nd within a year in the most competitive per capita banking market in the United States. While at CorTrust, he managed all aspects of the mortgage company including processing, underwriting, originating, and servicing. CorTrust Mortgage is an affiliate of a privately owned bank that produced and average of $200 million annually.

At Wells Fargo Mortgage, Dave managed the mortgage market for the states of North and South Dakota and led his branch to achieve one of the highest market shares by states in the country. Dave has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of South Dakota and graduated in 1988.

In addition to his time spent in banking and finance, Dave was a very successful Realtor for 5 years. He understands what is important to Realtors and what they are looking for in a mortgage lender.

Dave is married to his wife, Kelly for 20 years and has 3 children: Megan, Madeline, and Mollie. He has a passion for restoring old cars when he is not attending his daughter’s events.

  

 DAVID DELL
 Chief Financial Officer

  Mr. Dell joined MegaStar Financial as its Chief Financial Officer in May 2011. Previously, he held senior management positions with various publically and privately held companies in the mortgage banking and real estate industries.

Throughout his career, he has been responsible for managing a variety of financial and administrative support functions, including accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury management, internal audit, human resources and legal / regulatory / contract administration.

Mr. Dell is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Colorado. He earned his MS-Accounting and BS-Business Administration from the University of Colorado. He also graduated from the Mortgage Bankers Association School of Mortgage Banking.

Mr. Dell, his wife Mary and triplet sons live in Arvada, Colorado.

  

 SCOTT BEER
 VP - Secondary Marketing Manager

  Mr. Beer is responsible for all aspects of secondary marketing and investor relations for MegaStar Financial Corporation.

He is currently building the infrastructure to move MegaStar Financial to a loan sale environment that utilizes a hedging strategy for interest rate risk management and a best execution model for loan delivery to specified investors. As the transition unfolds, he will be responsible for day to day trading, lock desk support and loan delivery.

Mr. Beer has been with MegaStar Financial since November 2010. He has been in the mortgage business for 24 years, primarily in Secondary Marketing, with a number of Irwin Financial companies.

At Irwin Mortgage, Mr. Beer led a secondary marketing team that was responsible for pipeline management of loans produced in Retail, Wholesale, and Correspondent channels. Irwin Mortgage was a midsize national mortgage company that produced and sold an average of $10B of mortgage loans annually.

Mr. Beer was a member of FNMA’s Advisory Council and graduated from the Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Idaho and graduated in 1985.

Mr. Beer is married to his wife, Carmen, and has 3 children: Ryan, Anna, and Sara. He has many hobbies outside of work that include: hiking, golfing, and reading. He enjoys all aspects of sports.

  

 JAMIE THOMAS
 Underwriting Manager

  Jamie Thomas joined MegaStar Financial as its Underwriting Manager in February 2011. Jamie is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and customer service in the underwriting department. This includes managing underwriter productivity and the constantly changing investor guidelines.

Jamie Thomas has been in the mortgage business for 25 years. Prior to MegaStar, Jamie worked at Aurora Bank FSB for 18 years with a vast array of positions which includes Vice President of Operations in Correspondent Lending and Wholesale. Jamie’s career started at Fannie Mae in Washington, DC.

Throughout her career she has been involved with all aspects of mortgage operations.

She graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Finance.

Jamie is married with children and spends much of her free time as a fan at her children’s sports events.

  

 SCOTT WILSON
 203k Division Manager

  Scott joined the Megastar team to assist with the vision of renovating America one home and one loan at a time. His experience as a land developer, land planner, builder and mortgage company owner enabled him to develop and implement a 203k purchase plus renovation loan program unlike any other across the country. He focused Megastar’s program on simplicity. The easier we make getting a renovation mortgage for a borrower, LO and agent… the more the loan will be used. This helps more borrowers purchase and owner occupy homes which improves neighborhoods, communities, the housing market and ultimately our economy. Scott’s desire to make a difference in the lives of those he serves drives him to provide the ultimate in service. When Scott’s not helping others at work, he’s focused on making a difference in the lives of his family. He spends his free time pretending to be an artist…

  

 RUBEN PADILLA
 IT Manager

  Mr. Padilla is the Information Technology Manager at MegaStar Financial Corporation. He plays a strategic role in maintaining the company’s internal information technology infrastructure; including providing support for day-to-day issues and moving the company forward with future growth. He possesses a diversified technical background and has extensive experience in customer service, computers, computer operations, computer networks, electronics, project management, and teamwork.

Prior to joining MegaStar Financial, Mr. Padilla worked for twelve years with the City & County of Denver supporting its information technology infrastructure. He also has eight years of previous experience with technology in various roles in help desk support, lead/senior technology technician, systems administration, and network support.

Mr. Padilla holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Information Systems with a Marketing track from the University of Colorado at Denver.
